The Song of Womanhood

And yet where is the respect she commands?
No care for her ten strong hands.
The society it seems has given her shame,
To hold in all her hands, and to her name.
The power inside her dies within,
No fire is sparked, puts off their dreams.
But she’s strong, powerful, full of soul,
She’s after all the mother of the world whole.

Teenage

If God has gifted a more precious thing than gold,
It is womanhood I suppose.
The grace, the beauty, and her guts,
They always remain embedded in a woman’s heart.
A woman has ten hands of which she adores none,
All the qualities of a woman are there for men to learn.
The elegance, boldness and confidence so high,
Inside a woman’s heart can only lie.
It is women who fuel the world to run,
Her face is always bright as the Sun.
Man can’t manage so much of soul,
It is women who know it all alone,
To maintain a precious thing like womanhood,
That’s why men’s respect for woman come should.

It’s always a pleasure to write about burning topics in the society.
Yes I’m Bengali. I guess you understood it from the reference to Maa Durga and also about a lot of old posts in which I’ve mentioned it.

  4. Rejoy, It is refreshing to see a young man who has some understanding of women. You would not be able to respect women without knowing women worthy of respect. Mom? Grandma? Your teachers? Your poem is well-written and your point of view is welcome. ❤ All the best! Cheryl
