All I Wish for is an Eternal Afternoon

When the Sun begins tilting to the West
I run to my terrace, to embrace the golden orange rays about to leave Earth for today.
I sit there silently, and think.
I dive into an ocean of thoughts.
So deep, slowly, the green potted plants in front me, disappear.
I see vividly, what I think,
Thoughts lit in the dying sunshine.
Cringey memories of the past light up to life.
What if moments become almost real scenarios.
Then thoughts lead on to thoughts,
Then situations lead to imaginary ones.
Suddenly I am thrown on the shore of reality, from the ocean of thoughts.
The neighbors’ kids are playing on their terrace, filled with energy and joy.
I shift my gaze to the flying kites, and birds.
The wind has started to blow.
The Sun is dead, the sunlight stays on as zombies for some time.
The thoughts were so beautiful, I remember,
The imaginary scenarios were so beautiful,
Then I think again,
The past stands as a solid road,
The present, as one, under construction,
And the future?
It’s just leaves no one has trodden on!
Earthly calls of family members bring me down from heaven of imagination,
I’m once again a human being, a real one!
